Event Details
We are excited about the upcoming gathering of many Christian congregations who will join together to “Bless Richmond”. What a wonderful way to begin the Thanksgiving Holiday when our nation pauses to remember the goodness of our Heavenly Father. This gathering gives us the opportunity to live out Matthew 6:10, where our prayer is that the Father’s Kingdom be modeled here on earth.
What will take place at Bless Richmond?
On Sunday, November 20th, Christians from dozens of congregations in Richmond will gather to give thanks to Jesus and pray together. During the night there will be four specific sections of worship and prayer– Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication. Through each section, we will be led by pairs of pastors– representing different congregational, denominational and ethnic backgrounds. There will be moments when we pray individually, and times when we are asked to turn and pray with others. You’ll hear modern worship songs as well as tradational hymns. As our worship leader, David Bailey says, we want anyone who comes to feel welcome and comfortable and yet feel stretched at the same time. And the hope is that we would learn to worship together, pray together and work together for the glory of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
CHILDCARE:There will be no childcare at this year's Bless Richmond. However, we encourage families to attend with their children. With the participatory-style service, your children will be able to engage in the worship and prayer times. We believe it will be a beneficial time for the families to pray together and for children to catch the vision of praying for their city.
Who is invited?
This call is to all the Christian congregations of Richmond to come together. All Christians and non-churched people are welcomed but our focus is to increase the congregational care for one another among the congregations of Metropolitan Richmond. Hopefully, one day, each congregation’s greatest cheerleaders will be the other congregations of this Christian community.

What food items should I bring?
The items that are most urgently needed include peanut butter, canned tuna, salmon, chicken, and ham; canned fruits and vegetables; hot and cold cereals; pasta and rice.
When you arrive at Bless Richmond, you will be directed by our parking attendants to a drive-through food drop off. They will take your bags of food from the car. Additional collection bins will be placed at the entrance of U-Turn for buses and extra bags.
The drop-off area will open one hour before the service begins at 5:00pm, so come early and get a good seat! Our hope is that by the end of the evening, we will be able to calculate and celebrate the amount of food collected for the Central Virginia Food Bank that night.
